Since the 1990s, we have provided strategic and creative leadership to Waterspill Junction Inc., a Rhode Island–based nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community health, cultural awareness, and artistic expression through performance and education.

Under my direction, Waterspill Junction has developed and sustained partnerships with a diverse network of organizations, including the Rhode Island Department of Health, Rhode Island Hospital, Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, Village Retirement Communities, and Don Mays Productions.

These collaborations have produced impactful projects such as Menopause Mama, an arts-based approach to women’s health education; Horror, Heroism, and Hope: Rhode Island Hospital Nursing Response to the Station Fire, a theatrical exploration of public health and resilience; and community-focused initiatives like Skips in the Record and I’ll Make Me A World, presented in partnership with First Night Providence.

Each of these works demonstrates Waterspill Junction’s capacity to use performance as a platform for health literacy, cultural understanding, and collective healing.

Through visionary leadership, strong partnerships, and sustained engagement, I have guided Waterspill Junction in fulfilling its mission to create inclusive, interdisciplinary arts experiences that serve both local and regional communities.

Our ongoing work continues to affirm the role of the arts as a vital instrument for education, empathy, and social transformation.
